Howdy Hoe-dee

Good day gents, I just thought I'd let everybody know that I added some pictures from Evan's Art Show to the yahoo group if you wanna check them out. Also you should be check out his online comic @ www.politicaldemon.com because that is the funniest damn comic strip I've ever read. Tomorrow is Andrea's 22nd birthday, so if you care you should shoot her an email or give her a call tomorrow evening. I would've been posting more but I've been sucked into KOTOR II. My god that game is hard as fuck to tear away from, it like controls my life. That and I'm re-reading The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, so my time has been a little pre-occupied. But I'm learning to prioritize so I should be posting more often. Also there will be no "Dave's iPod Playlist Of The Week" this week. Since it's her birthday, Andrea will be gracing our ears with her own playlist. So stay tuned happy campers, Same Secret Time, Same Finger Channel...

( ? )

The new job is fine, but some bad news on my writing projects. My computer has a virus that only affects word docs and it can't be deleted, (and I can't reformat it either). Everything that I had on cd-r has the virus too, and Norton says that it can't fix the problem. Thankfully I have everything written out in long hand as a back up. So this summer will be my first major rewrite on everything that I have written so far.

Would you consider Batman a superhero?

Here's the deal, at work we've been discussing whether or not Batman (or characters like him, ex. Punisher) can be considered superheroes because they have no superpowers. I'm interested to see what everyone thinks so, post your comments and tell me.

Also, I didn't make a new playlist, but rest assured "Dave's iPod Playlist Of The Week" will be back next week.

evan's women's rights fun facts!

did you know the popular term "m'am" actually is not short for the word "madam"? fancy that! contrary to popular belief, the term actually comes from the word "mammary". it is well documented that not until the year 1923 were women referred to by the term "woman". before this year, women were defined by their breasts, or "mammary glands" and were always referred to as "mam-havers". as fat men (men seeming to have breasts) became more previlent in society, confusion set in and the term "women" was added to the english dictionary. however, old habits do not die easily, and the classic "mam-havers" term was shortened to the much catchier "m'am" which we enjoy today.

Another sleepless night...

Well actually, I slept all Wednesday night and Thursday day. I caught a hellacious cold that kicked the shit outta me. I'm feeling much better but I'm unable to sleep so I'm finding ways to pass the time 'til I gotta go back to work. If anybody cares, Reel Big Fish just released a new album entitled "We Not Happy 'til You're Not Happy", and it rates very high on the Dave scale of rock.

I've actually gotten back into comics lately and have found a few good reads and a few bad. Avengers:Disassembled sucked balls, it was such a lame way for the team to break up. JLA's Identity Crisis is fucking badass, along with the new Batman/Superman. The new She-Hulk was great, more along the lines of humor than action. The Star Wars Infinities GN's were cool, sort of What If's for the original trilogy. And if you want something a little more "out there" Andrea's been reading Fables, which she describes as "A fucked up version of every fairy tale you can think of".

I saw "Cursed" about 2 weeks ago, put that on your wait for rental list. It had some funny points (and the fucking cane from Wolfman), but lacked in every other aspect. Wes Craven needs to swallow the barrel of a shotgun. I'm so disappointed by horror films these days, aside from 28 Days Later and Saw they've all really sucked. I mean how fucking hard is it to make a good scary movie? It would seem that we can only count on the British to make anything worthwhile.

Well I'm done boring all of you, 'til next time.
