evan's genius moments from sith
inspired by dave's post, i'd like to mention a few of the moments in revenge of the sith that i thought were particularly good choices.
1. the jedi purge. to me, when i realized how genius the plan was to turn the republic into the empire, i really was impressed. the whole setup- jedis are generals of clone trooper armies on far away planets is great. you wonder early on, like why would these droids attack the wookie planet for no reason? or whatever planet. then we find out its mainly to space out all the jedi and surround them with troops under control of palpy, and they turn with his "order 66". and why are they using these crap droids? they arent even meant to fight well! they're pawns to create a war, and instantly palpy can turn off all the droids and end the war once hes in power. i think all that stuff was answered geniusly.
2. sad music for darth. i thought that was cool because i assumed the scene where they first showed darth vader was gonna have like "badass" music playing, but the use of the same death/funeral music was a great way of doing it. i loved it.
3. qui-gon becomes one of the most important jedi ever. with his discovery of "immortality" jedis like yoda and obiwan can now talk to new generations of jedi, so all is not lost. i thought this was great.
4. no jarjar, little c3po! and r2 was actually funny. enough said.

Excellent points bro. Andrea's cried during the Jedi purge scene (she was already upset over the death of Kit Fisto). And Qui-Gon finally getting some credit as a fucking good Jedi. In the novel on ROTS it says that since Qui-Gon's death, when Yoda talks to the force, it responds in Qui-Gon's voice. R2 was pretty funny and I'm glad they got all his jokes outta the way early. However, what happened to all those nifty gadgets in the future? And why does Luke's X-wing eject him like Anakin's did? (rhetorical question, I know Lucas didn't have the capability to produce that in the 80s.)
